NEW DELHI: Kailash Gahlot, Minister of Transport and Environment, Government of NCT of Delhi said on Wednesday, February 9, that the enhanced doorstep delivery of public services will soon begin with the two new manpower companies. Common Service Centre (CCS) e-Governance and Core Doc 2 (for trans Yamuna) will take over the services from Visa Facilitation Services Global, which has been running them for roughly three years. Tenders for the agencies’ recruitment were opened in October 2021, with the two agencies catering to 70 per cent and 30 per cent of the demand, respectively.

According to Gahlot, the administration resolved to increase service delivery after citizens responded positively to the program. “As a result of this change, the Delhi government will now provide services to the people through almost 150 Mobile Sahayaks, supervisors, and coordinators.” Using two manpower agencies will reduce the government’s operational reliance on a single service provider and provide it the flexibility to assign responsibilities as needed.

In addition, for better monitoring, application tracking, coordination, and supervision, the Delhi government is developing a new and upgraded software application for the doorstep delivery of public services initiatives. This will ensure that all-important parties (call centers, personnel agencies, and the government) are informed and that services are delivered responsibly,” Gahlot stated. In September 2018, the Aam Aadmi Party administration in Delhi implemented the doorstep delivery of public services scheme.

A total of 100 services are delivered to citizens’ doorsteps as part of the scheme. The government maintained that none of the services covered by the scheme will require citizens of Delhi to queue. Citizens can arrange service by dialing 1076, and a ‘Mobile Sahayak’ will come to them to gather relevant paperwork, sparing them the trouble of going to government offices. The project began with 40 services spread across eight departments and has since grown to 100 services spread across 14 departments.
