Telangana govt spent ₹15,961 cr on 141 ULBs

HYDERABAD, Telangana: The Government of Telangana spent ₹15,961 crore in 141 urban local bodies in the last eight and a half years, excluding Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) which no other state in the country achieved, according to K T Rama, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Government of Telangana.

HYDERABAD, Telangana: The Government of Telangana spent ₹15,961 crore in 141 urban local bodies in the last eight and a half years, excluding Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) that no other state in the country has achieved, according to K T Rama, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Government of Telangana.
He said that a comprehensive report on the spending would be hand out to all Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs), and Members of Parliament (MPs) during the next assembly session. Municipal Commissioners and Assistant Collectors of Local Bodies (ACLB), will also be handed out reports and on how the Telangana state government has been trying to improve the local bodies.
Attending a workshop on Pattana Pragathi held in Hyderabad, Rao enquired about various development works in 141 municipalities across the state. He also asked the municipal commissioners to review the implementation of the Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self Certification System (TS-bPASS) at the ground level.
Addressing the municipal commissioners, he asked them to go through the Accredited Staff College of India’s (ASCI) book titled, ‘Innovations and Leading Practices in Water Sanitation and Hygiene’ as it contains concepts on the circular economy, solid and liquid waste and utilizing construction and demolition waste.
