KOLKATA, West Bengal: The State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) has released SOPs and sanctioned ₹3.5 crore, along with additional manpower, for a one-time clean-up drive at the government establishments. The drive aims to curb the potential mosquito breeding conditions. It will take place from April 29 to June 1, covering a total of 129, including Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA).

An official informed that the civic workers will be trained in vector-borne disease control measures as part of the drive. With financial assistance from the state government, this drive will cover all state health and education institutions, housing estates, state government offices, and ICDS centres. In addition to that, core team members will be given the responsibility to oversee the cleaning of an assigned ward regularly.
