BELAGAVI, Karnataka: In recent elections held in Belagavi City Corporation, Savita Kamble and Anand Chauhan have been elected as Mayor and Deputy Mayor, respectively. Both have won their respective elections unopposed.
New Mayor Savita Kamble previously worked as a civic worker before being elected to the urban local body.
She was elected to the city corporation from Ward 17. She contested from a seat reserved for Schedule Caste women on the BJP ticket.
