Projects worth Rs 2,082 cores approved by Odisha government

BHUBANESWAR, Odisha: The Government of Odisha, on June 9, approved 11 investment projects worth Rs 2082 crores, related to tourism, information and communication technology, electronics systems, manufacturing and metal downstream sector. Thus, generating 3612 additional jobs in the state.

The projects were approved by the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWA), headed by Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Chief Secretary of Odisha.

The projects include an overland conveyer corridor of NALCO for the transportation of bauxite and other minerals from mines of NALCO to the refineries situated in Damanjodi in the Koraput district. The estimated cost of the project stands at Rs 732 crores.

Additionally, several other proposals were also approved by the SLSWCA in the downstream metal sector including a rolling mill, pellet plant, coal gasification unit and coal-based captive power plant by the Konark Ispat Limited at Jharsugorha, at the cost of Rs 379 crores.

The proposal also includes a hot rolled mill, fabricated structures and other equipment for steel plants and railways by PSPL Steel Processors Private Limited at the cost of Rs 150 crores. A TMT Rebar Mill by the ASL Enterprises with an investment of Rs 167 crores. Both the units will be established at Kalingnagar in the Jajpur district.

Also, a downstream steel unit Khetan Viniyog Private Limited, which will be manufacturing a HR coil, slitting, blanking and stamping to come up in Kalinga Nagar.

A data centre facility has also been approved which will offer co-location based cloud hosting services at the cost of Rs 152 crores. The unit will be built by Hyderabad-based CtrIS Datacenters Limited at Infocity.

Other proposals approved by the state government are Monolithics and Slide Gate Plate at Kalunga Industrial Estate in Sundargarh, Oddiyaana Eco Resort Private Limited’s project at the Marine Drive in Konark, Hotel cum restaurant by Lifeline Multi-ventures Private Limited, a five-star resort by Aspen Lakes Suites LLP and another hotel by Hotel Sukhamay Private Limited.
