NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Thursday, July 14, announced uniform rates for general trade and storage licences for establishments across the capital city. The new licence rates are higher in comparison to the ones that were levied by the former municipal corporations.

The new policy states that Rs 3968 is the annual licence fee for an area measuring up to 10 square metres under groups A and B. Meanwhile, for groups C and D is Rs 2646, and for groups E and H, the establishment fee is at Rs 1323. The new licence fee rates, which will be levied on traders and establishments, such as automobile repair centres, blacksmiths, warehouses, among others – have come into effect from July 7. In an official statement released, the civic body said that there will be an increase of 15% in the licence fee for all categories every three years from the date of implementation of the said rates, starting from April 1, 2025. The MCD said that the revised rates aim at cubing disparities in the earlier fee rates – as they differed across the city due to three different municipal corporations.
