LUCKNOW: Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) is planning the development of 88 villages under its jurisdiction. A committee established by the LMC has already submitted the layout for the development plans with an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore. They suggest providing piped water supply, installing streetlights, building parks, and constructing community centers.
Ashok Singh, Chief Tax Superintendent, LMC said that the villages include a good land bank that will come in handy for the LMC during the development project. The LMC will be concentrating on increasing the village’s connectivity with the rest of the city. Hence, the construction of roads and a drainage system will be given priority.
Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan, Government of India, has planned to provide tap water supply to 88 new villages. The Project Manager of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam and the General Manager, Jal Sansthan had a meeting to prepare a layout for the project last week.
For laying down the pipeline, Jal Nigam will be conducting a survey in the selected villages from next week. Over one lakh houses in the city will also be given water connection by laying down new water lines in different areas. Currently, these areas are receiving their water supply through handpumps and submersible pumps.
