Jharkhand govt to give 100 units free electricity to poor people

RANCHI, Jharkhand: The state cabinet of Jharkhand, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, on Friday, July 15, approved the proposal to provide 100 units per month of free electricity to the financially poor population in the state. Nearly 55 proposals were approved by the cabinet in the meeting.

The Cabinet has also decided to implement the Old Pension Scheme with some added conditions. Under the chairmanship of the Development Commissioner, a committee will be formed to draft the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to reinstate Old Pension Scheme replacing the new pension scheme.

Vandana Dadel, Principal Secretary, Department of Cabinet Secretariat and Vigilance, Government of Jharkhand said, “The Development Commissioner along with the Principal Secretaries of Finance and Personnel Departments will come out with an SOP for the transition to the old pension scheme and it will be sent to the Cabinet for approval.” In the meeting, the Jharkhand cabinet also approved the rules and regulations for 75 per cent reservation for the local population of Jharkhand in the private sector.
