RANCHI, Jharkhand: On the occasion of World Environment Day, more than 10,000 saplings were planted by the Jharkhand Energy Department across the state. The Jharkhand Forest Department praised the decision to plant 10,000 trees in honour of the occasion. The department added that these measures will support the state’s green mission and assist to cut carbon emissions. NK Singh, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Government of Jharkhand, said that the department would plant more than two crore saplings in the upcoming rainy season in the state. “Separate plans have also been made to increase green cover in urban Jharkhand. Under this initiative, a total of 86,600 saplings will be planted only in Ranchi city,” he said.
