CHANDIGARH, Haryana: The Government of Haryana has decided to regularise nearly 450 unauthorised colonies in the state, some of which come under the Department of Town and Country Planning and remaining under the Urban Local Bodies department.
Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar informed that out of 450 colonies selected for regularisation by the government, 211 are under the jurisdiction of the Department of Urban Local Bodies, and 239 are under the Department of Town and Country Planning. With this, the number of unauthorised colonies, regularised since 2014, will reach 1,135. The government has also allocated Rs 500 crore for the basic development of these colonies.
Out of the total 450 unauthorised colonies, 92 are in the Yamunanagar area, 59 are in Faridabad, 35 in Nuh and Sonipat each, 32 in Rohtak, 31 in Palwal, 30 in Kiathal, 25 each in Kurukshetra and Jhajjar, 22 in Panipat, 20 in Hisar, 16 in Fatehabad, 14 in Rewari, 9 in Sirsa, 3 in Gurugram and 2 in Karnal.
Apart from that, 1,856 unauthorised colonies are also under consideration for regularisation. 1,129 of these colonies fall under the jurisdiction of the Department of Urban Local Bodies, and 727 are under the Department of Town and Country Planning.
