Gujarat CM sanctions ₹5.60 cr for ULBs under SJMSVY

GANDHINAGAR, Gujarat: Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel has sanctioned a total fund of ₹5.6 crore for developmental projects in urban local bodies of Bhavnagar, Nadiad, Kalawad, and Halvad. The fund has been sanctioned as part of the Society Public Participation Scheme (Khaangi Society Janbhaagidari Yojana).

Out of the total fund, ₹1.6 crore has been allocated for 56 developmental works in the Nadiad Municipality, which will benefit 971 families that fall under the jurisdiction of the local body.

Similarly, ₹1.8 crore has been allocated to Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation. This fund will be utilised for the implementation of 66 projects, thereby benefitting around 2,900 families.

Apart from that, ₹2.11 crore has been set aside for drainage lines linking project with primary drainage system of Kalawad and Halvad municipalities. Out of this allocated budget, ₹1.87 crore will be used for providing drainage connections to 4,237 houses in Kalavad ULB. The remaining amount will be used for connecting 281 houses in Halvad Municipality.

70 per cent of the total expenditure will be sponsored by the Society Public Participation, and 10 per cent will fall on the shoulders of the urban local bodies. The remaining 20 per cent will be provided by concerned society for works such as internal roads, water pipelines, streetlights and sewers. Grant worth ₹7,000 per household is also being offered to connect residences not yet connected to the central drainage system with the main drainage line.
