LUCKNOW: In a bid to provide people with easy access to proper healthcare facilities, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to connect all primary health centres (PHCs) and community health centres (CHCs) in both rural and urban areas to the main roads. After the fatal second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, public representatives in the state have been bolstering healthcare services to prepare for a possible third wave.

Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of UP, has issued directives to responsible departments to substantially expand road connectivity in a systematic manner. The responsibility to improve the road network has been handed to urban development department, municipal corporations, the PWD, gram panchayats and urban/rural bodies. Focus is to connect all PHCs and CHCs in UP to the main routes so that medical facilities are within the reach of people.
