NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government told the Supreme Court that in the case of underpass and FOB in the capital Delhi, the construction work will be completed in next six months by taking approval from the concerned department in the next six months. Delhi Government has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court by filing an affidavit about measures to deal with the problem of traffic jams in Delhi.

Based on the report given by EPCA, the affidavit has been filed by the Delhi Government in the Supreme Court. The court had asked that the details of the Bottleneck on the streets in Delhi should be reported in detail and measures should be taken to deal with it.

Delhi Government said that 77 places have been identified where traffic congestion is high. The main reason behind this is an encroachment on the footpath-dividers and illegal parking. Many times people walk in the wrong way on the roads, causing traffic problems. In many places the width of the roads is low. Many times the parking of trains is wrongly around the road going to the petrol pump. There are many trees and toilets on the streets. In many places, there are no foot over bridges and subways. There is a lack of U-turn and underpass in many places. There is a need for long term and short term planning to fix this.

It was also informed by the Delhi Government in the Supreme Court that the Delhi government decided on July 11 that one thousand low floor electric buses would be brought. To charge these buses, charging points are also to be made and the place has been identified for this purpose.
