Rain lashes several parts of Delhi-NCR, causes waterlogging

NEW DELHI: Various parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region witnessed heavy rains causing waterlogging in areas including Akshardham, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), and Golf Club road. Traffic movement was also affected due to waterlogging, a few stretches were restricted and people were advised to divert from such routes.

15-20 waterlogging complaints have been registered with Public Works Department (PWD) so far. According to a report, the Indian Metrological Department has predicted more rainfall to occur between September 1 and 4. Moreover, thunderstorms have also been predicted for the month of September.
“We are keeping a close watch on the situation and are ensuring that people do not face much inconvenience due to waterlogged roads,” a senior PWD official told to PTI.
