Out of state cabs need permit to ply in Delhi

New Delhi: Cabs having number plates of other states will soon have to take a permit from the Delhi government to ply in the national capital. MLA Jagdesh Pradhan raised question in parliament about the non-registered cabs running on Delhi NCR roads. In the reply to a question Transport Minister Kelash Gehalot said that we are planning many policies to control such problem. Department takes action against it. About 404 taxis have fined and more than 150 has confiscated.  He said most of the private taxis are running under the app based agreement Rules, 2017 signed with Ola and Uber. According to new policies now it will be mandatory to have legal permit to ride taxies in Delhi NCR, he added. The policy is pending with the high power committee.
