BHUBANESWAR, Odisha: The Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of Odisha, has been conferred first prize in the category “National MSME Award 2022 to States/UTs for outstanding contribution for the promotion and development of MSME Sector”. The states, union territories and the aspirational districts have been awarded for the development initiatives they have undertaken for the development and promotion of MSME in the state.
Kalahandi, Odisha has been ranked third in the category of “National MSME Award 2022 to Aspirational districts for outstanding contribution in the promotion and development of MSME Sector”. While Saferisk Insurance Brokers Private Limited, Bhubaneswar has won first prize in the “Award for Service Entrepreneurship – Service Small Enterprise (Overall)” category and Amarnath Pest Management Technology, Cuttack was ranked third in “Award for Service Entrepreneurship – Service Micro Enterprise (Overall)”, category.
The National MSME Award 2022, was instituted by the government of India. The scheme comprises of 44 categories which include Special Category Enterprises (14 awards), Manufacturing entrepreneurship (12 awards), Service entrepreneurship (9 awards) and Institutional Support to MSMEs (9 awards).
The awards were conferred on the states and union territories, and aspirational districts for their contribution to the development of MSME. The performance of the state, union territory and aspirational districts were assessed based on parameters such as the efficacy of the Facilitation Council, sector-specific policies & their performance, Grievance redressal, growth of MSME credit, implementation of the cluster approach, Udyam Registration, skill development programmes & awareness conducted, Y-o-Y growth of MSME budget etc. Evaluation of nearly 2785 applications in 44 categories for the award was done by the selection committee of the Government of India.
