NTPC signs MoU with GNIDA to foster sustainable energy

NEW DELHI: NTPC Ltd (National Thermal Power Corporation Limited) announced signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) for facilitating the supply of Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) which is the combustible fraction of solid waste.

The MoU is a significant step towards sustainable development and GNIDA will provide 20 tonnes per day of RDF to NTPC for the next ten years, as per the company in a statement. NTPC has a larger aim attached to this initiative, which is to demonstrate environment-friendly technology in the production of green power. This initiative was planned under the theme of “NETRA Green Campus” via which the campus will have green power from solar photovoltaic technology, battery storage, Hydrogen, and RDF.  NTPC Ltd has successfully installed the capacity of 67,907 MW and includes 23 coal-based stations, 7 gas-based stations, 1 hydro station, and entails 18 renewable energy projects.
