MEGHALAYA: The health minister of Meghalaya, James Sangma, has inaugurated the newly built Meghalaya Health Systems Strengthening Project (MHSSP) office in Shillong. With the help of MHSSP, the government aims to improve the quality and utilisation of all the necessary health services the state provides. It also aims to build health infrastructure and better primary and secondary health output parameters.

A joint venture signed on October 28, 2021, between the state government and the World Bank looks forward to strengthening the public health system and making it more accessible to the local people.

While meeting with the senior officials from the health and family welfare department, Sangma went through the progress and updates and gave valuable inputs on improving major health indicators.

Keeping in mind the recent trend to go paperless, MHSSP has initiated a complete digital administrative system using the online Digital Document Filing System (DDFS) for its use.

MHSSP is also planning to construct a drone hub in Jengal, West Garo Hills, among other places, to provide services to inaccessible remote areas.
