THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a bid to counter and control the anticipated rise in COVID-19 cases in the state, the Government of Kerala issued an order on Tuesday, July 14, deputing IAS officials to every district. The officials are expected to assist Collectors in setting up and operationalizing more COVID-19 first-line treatment centres (CFLTCs) and reverse quarantine facilities in all districts in the state. The government ordered that CFLTCs, with a minimum of 100 beds per panchayat and 50 beds per urban wards, should be identified and readied for operation in 10 days.
The plan aims to ready the authorities for admittance of COVID positive patients in the CFLTCs as soon as their area is declared a containment zone. Similarly, reverse quarantine facilities should also be established at the local level. Beds, bedsheets, and other infrastructural requirements for the CFLTCs are to be arranged through sponsorship by the District Collector.
Kerala plans to work on the lessons it learnt from the People’s Plan Campaign and work on decentralized management of COVID-19.
