Educational institutions to provide development related solutions: Gadkari

BHOPAL: Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, while attending a three day Sarthak EduVision-2021 national expo and seminar, said that directions for self-reliant Bharat should focus on agriculture and rural economy and that educational institutions should provide technology and solutions for development. The national expo and seminar was organised on Sunday, March 14 by Bharatiya Shikshak Mandal, in collaboration with University Grants Commission, Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, and other organisations for deliberation and discussion on the National Education Policy (NEP).

During the inaugural session, Gadkari said that economic development is as important as developing values with economic prosperity. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, said that India has been a great store for knowledge, and efforts should be made to impart it to new generation and therefore, youth should be encouraged to conduct research.

Chouhan commented that education has three prime objectives – imparting knowledge, develop skills, and inculcate Sanskara, which has been deep-routed in our culture, and that NEP has been designed is such a way that is has many dimensions and comprises traditional to modern education system. He informed that the Government of Madhya Pradesh is going to open around 9000 schools for standard primary education and has prepared vision for self-reliant Madhya Pradesh, which focuses on four areas – infrastructure, education & health, good governance, employment and economy. Singh in his speech called upon educationists to provide suggestions for self-reliant Madhya Pradesh.
