NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday, May 21, said that the Government of NCT of Delhi will buy oxygen tankers and will set up 300 metric tonnes (MT) capacity of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants. The Delhi government will also set up beds in order to prepare the capital for another potential wave of COVID-19 as the current wave is seeing a downward trend.

CM Kejriwal said that the meeting was held on Tuesday, May 18, to decide on the steps to be taken to control the predicted third wave. He added that the people of Delhi should not face the same problem which emerged during the second wave of COVID-19 which is why a team of officers have been assigned to make a list all the preparations ought to be made.

CM Kejriwal also added that the Delhi government will purchase its own oxygen tankers and will also install PSA-based oxygen plants in the capital on a rapid pace to tackle the situation. He added that Delhi consumes almost 250 MT of oxygen regularly on a daily basis and that is why the government is planning to set up oxygen plants with a total capacity of 250-300 MT so that the capital does not run out of oxygen in the next wave.
