NEW DELHI: With an increasing toll of dengue deaths, civic bodies across the capital have been advised to form a unified online portal, which will be referred for all the information regarding the disease.

Around 8000 cases and 19 deaths have been registered in the national capital from dengue, this year. The bodies which are primarily responsible for curbing the spread of the disease by keeping the city clean have urged the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of NCT of Delhi, to devise an online platform. This platform can be used to stop the spread in a certain area from where any case is registered, similar to the applications that were built to track the COVID-19 cases, said a South Delhi Municipal Corporation official.

Moreover, this portal will also have a consolidated record of cases and related details. The idea for having such a platform has already been acclaimed and hence suggested to the Delhi government through a written letter, said Alka Sharma, Additional Commissioner, East Delhi Municipal Corporation.
