NEW DELHI: The Delhi Development Authority has plans to develop an international industrial and business hub in Dwarka. DDA will appoint a consultant to prepare a detailed layout plan to develop the hubs in Sector 24, 25 and 26 in Dwarka. The International Business, Information Technology & Information Technology Enabled Services, and Commercial and Industrial hub will be built very close to the Government of India’s India International Convention and Expo Centre.

A senior official from DDA has said that the consultant selected will be responsible to carry out a detailed study of the area first, delineate boundaries of the influence area of the identified land parcels, and at last, prepare a detailed plan for the project.

DDA wishes to develop the three sectors of Dwarka based on the Transit Oriented Development Policy. A lot of projects, including the International Convention Centre, Urban Extension Road-II, Railway passenger terminal at Bijwasan, land pooling, etc., are already in the pipeline. Therefore, DDA will conduct an impact study while planning the new sectors.

A senior DDA official said that transportation will be the key focus of the plan. A transportation plan will be developed simultaneously for the three sectors to ensure conflict free movement within the complex and around it. A proposal has also been made to develop a cycle sharing facility in the hub. The plan is to develop it in such a way that the hub has an adequate mix of activities as mentioned in the draft of Master of Plan of Delhi-2041.
