COVID-19 vaccination camps to be setup in colleges: Karnataka govt

BENGALURU: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwathnarayan said on Thursday, June 24, that COVID-19 vaccination camps will bet set-up in college campuses to ensure inoculation of students, teaching and non-teaching staff to help in resuming the offline classes in the state. The camps will be arranged and operated in July, 2021, which was decided in a recent meeting by the Chief Minister.

Deputy CM Ashwathnarayan said that a different Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) would be issued for the special vaccination drives. He added that all those who are vaccinated should get their certificates from the respective college and the heads of colleges should ensure vaccination of all.

Ashwathnarayan added that the final call on resuming the classes again will be taken only after all the students are vaccinated. While addressing the media, he added that if anyone gets infected while taking the physical classes after the first dose, it will not become dangerous for them.
