NEW DELHI: All the top hospitals of Delhi faced shortage of oxygen on Tuesday, April 20, which got resolved late at night when the Government of India held long talks with the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Delhi hospitals reported shortage of oxygen supply in the High Court and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appealed to the Centre to supply oxygen cylinders.
Over 4500 cubic metres of oxygen was supplied by a private vendor and 6000 cubic metres were added by Inox Air to Sri Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. An official at Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital confirmed that the truck carrying the oxygen cylinders reached the facility at around 1:30 am.
Deputy CM Manish Sisodia tweeted that most hospitals in the capital have just 8 to 12 hours of oxygen supply left and we have been asking the centre for the supply since seven days. He added that there will be chaos in Delhi if the supply is not sent by Wednesday.
