CBSE board exams likely to be held offline after February: Pokhriyal

NEW DELHI: During a live interaction with teachers, Ramesh Pokhriyal, Minister of Education, Government of India, said that the upcoming Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board examinations of classes 10 and 12 will not be held until February 2021. He said that the dates of commencement of exams will be announced later by the government after thoroughly assessing the situation, and added that the exams will be conducted on the basis of the reduced syllabus which was given by CBSE for session 2020-21.

On the issue of mode of examination, Pokhriyal said that online examination is highly unlikely for a large number of students across India will be unable to access necessary devices and network. He also stated that promoting students without any exam will label the students and they might face trouble in getting jobs and admissions at higher education level in the future.
