Andhra Pradesh signs pact with Adani Green Energy at WEF

HYDERABAD: The Government of Andhra Pradesh announced on Monday, May 23, that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Adani Green Energy at the annual meet of the World Economic Forum. The meeting was held at Davos where an investment of Rs 60,000 crore was decided for the state. This includes a 3700 MW hydro storage project and a 10,000 MW solar energy project.

The MoU was signed by Karikal Valaven, Special Chief Secretary on behalf of the state, and by Ashish Rajvamshi on behalf of the Adani Group, in the presence of Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Goutam Adani, Chairman, Adani Group. The proposed two projects will provide employment opportunities to around 10,000 people of the state.

CM Reddy also met and interacted with heads of Tech Mahindra and Dassault Systems. CP Gurnani, Chief Executive Officer, Tech Mahindra, said that the CM wants to develop Vishakhapatnam as a technology hub with focus on IT. He added that the company will be working with the state government within three months to draft a syllabus for high-end technology for skill development.
