NEW DELHI: Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India, during his speech in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, March 17, said that a total of 386 electric charging stations have been installed in 13 states and union territories. In a written response in the Lok Sabha, Javadekar informed that atleast 94 charging stations have been installed in Delhi, followed by 49 in Rajasthan and 48 in Chandigarh.

Javadekar said that Phase 2 of Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles scheme, which grants allowances, will be implemented from Thursday, April 1, for a span of three years with a total budgetary allocation of Rs 10,000 crore.

He also said that more than 36.27 crore LED bulbs have been distributed to consumers at an inexpensive price, which brought about estimated savings of 38.62 million tonnes annually.
