LUCKNOW: The Integrated Command Control Centres (ICCC) for all the smart cities of the state of Uttar Pradesh, will be set up in the state capital, Lucknow. The decision aims to save the state treasury crores of rupees, which would have been required to set up a command centre in different smart cities.
IIT Kanpur reviewed the detailed project report of the unified command centre at the request of the Urban Development Department and gave its approval. This centre will be one of the largest cloud-based command centre in North India. The centre has the objective of improving traffic flow, picking up traffic violations and controlling pollution in these cities. In addition, it will host other services and utilities.
Indramani Tripathi, Special Secretary, Urban Development Department, said that the unified command centre will have advanced integrations, visualisation, along with incident-management for peacetime as well as emergency situations. It will aid in the integration of various smart elements into the cities such as smart street lights, environmental sensors, city surveillance, intelligent traffic management systems, solar power systems, e-governance, e-health, house tax collection, complaint portals, GIS systems, and so on.
