The new bus service of the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has been introduced in a bid to make their travel safe and comfortable. The ceremony was held at Assam Administrative Staff College at Khanapara, where the buses were introduced to give a new dimension to the state government’s welfare measures in the new year. Sonowal at the ceremony requested all commuters to take care of these buses which will ply in five routes within the city of Guwahati. He lauded the efforts and services of Chandra Mohan Patowary, Transport Minister of the state, and all the ASTC employees during the pandemic, including transporting essential commodities within North East and to other parts of India, and in bringing back people who were stranded outside.
