Councillors in Haryana to get allowances for attending quarterly meets

CHANDIGARH, Haryana: Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, announced that the state government will give allowances to councilliors in Haryana to attend quarterly meetings.

CM informed about the decision of the state government to give allowances to the councilliors for attending quarterly meetings while addressing the members of the urban local bodies in Hisar. The CM said that municipal committee members will be given ₹1600, members of the municipal council will get ₹2400, and municipal corporation members will get ₹3000.

Saini also announced that a committee will be formed under the leadership of Subhash Sudha, Minister for Urban Local Bodies. This committee will look into the proposal to increase the allowances of the representatives of the civic body. The committee will consult all stakeholders and submit its report as soon as possible.

Apart from that, the CM also announced the fund allocation to the urban local bodies for organising events on Independence Day and Republic Day. Councillors of the municipal committee will get ₹10,000, while members of the committee will get ₹20,000. Similarly, the municipal corporations will be given ₹30,000 for organising the event.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has increased the honorarium for mayors, chairmans, and members of the municipal committee, council, and corporation.
