ITANAGAR, Arunachal Pradesh: Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, has given the green light for a budget of ₹2,248.94 crore for the development of the Lada-Sarli section of National Highway-913 (Frontier Highway) in Arunachal Pradesh.
Gadkari emphasised the significance of this project, designed to establish a rapid communication network for security forces while also stimulating economic activities to encourage reverse migration towards vibrant border regions.
Gadkari stated, “This project will create essential road infrastructure, connecting critical river basins and facilitating the development of numerous hydropower projects in the state.”
He further added, “This greenfield road project holds promise for tourism, catering to sparsely populated areas of Upper Arunachal, and anticipates increased traffic in the future.”
As per the official statement, Gadkari has also sanctioned ₹1014.59 crore for the construction of the Kharsang-Miao-Vijaynagar – Gandhigram section of NH-913 (Frontier Highway) in the state.
Gadkari highlighted the transformative nature of this 61.55 km road, developed on the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode, which promises improved connectivity to border areas, fostering socio-economic development.
