Assam to have solid waste management projects in all municipal areas

DISPUR, Assam: Ashok Singhal, the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of Assam, has announced that solid waste management projects are already been implemented in all municipal areas in the state. The aim is to make these areas garbage-free within the coming year.

DISPUR, Assam: Ashok Singhal, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of Assam, has announced that solid waste management projects are already been implemented in all municipal areas in the state. The aim is to make these areas garbage-free within the coming year.

The minister held a meeting with the All Assam Municipal Board Commissioners’ Association, discussed various key issues relating to the local bodies, and mentioned that the project is underway in 18 cities and that the tender process is at multiple stages for the remaining 30 cities.

The municipalities where work has already begun are Nalbari, Silapathar, Barpeta Road, Chapar, North Lakhimpur, Dhekiajuli, Kokrajhar, Barpathar, Sarupathar, Golaghat, Margherita, Doomdooma, Kharupetia, Mangaldoi, North Guwahati, Tezpur, Bokkakhat and Silchar.
