ULHASNAGAR, Maharashtra: Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation has served notices to 190 construction sites. The move is in line with the aim of Ulhasnagar Corporation to crack down on any unauthorised construction in the city and to regulate and monitor its growth.

The corporation has decided to take a stern approach towards any illegal construction activity as the unregulated expansion of the city results in the multiplication of safety and infrastructural challenges. As the population of the city increases it will be essential for the corporation to ensure that all developmental activities are carried out according to prescribed legal frameworks and guidelines. The civic body will be resorting to stringent actions against the violators of the construction norms.

The recently served notices mean that all the structures erected at the construction sites are under scrutiny, and the builders will be penalised if they are found to violate regulations. The urban local body has also asked the developers to rectify the non-compliance within a specified time. Failure to do so could also result in demolition.

With its effort to regulate and monitor the expansion of the city, the local body aims to ensure that development is sustainable and inclusive for all residents in Ulhasnagar.
