Odisha govt approves project worth Rs 95 crore to develop school infra

BHUBANESWAR: The Government of Odisha approved a project related to school infrastructure to be implemented in 23 districts of the state on Monday, July 19. The approval for the project, worth Rs 95 crore, was given on Monday during the 26th Executive Council meeting of ‘Mo School Abhiyan’, reported PTI. 

Several philanthropic organizations and alumni members contributed over Rs 11.56 crore for the project. The funds will be directed towards the development of schools run by the government across the state. Financial aid of Rs 20 crore was also granted to the ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ by the Corporate Social Responsibility fund of various organizations. A special academic committee to make recommendations on how to make the school syllabus more academically enriched. The schools in Odisha will reopen for Class 10th and 12th students from July 26. The state government issued a detailed list of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for smooth reopening. The Education Department shared the SOPs with the directors of Secondary Education and Higher Secondary Education, CHSE chairman and president of Board of Secondary Education, asking them to ensure the COVID appropriate behavior in schools.
