NEW DELHI: New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is planning to build a 11 km-long cycle track from New Moti Bagh in South Delhi to Nirman Bhawan in Central Delhi. Dharmendra, Chairperson, NDMC, said that a dedicated cycle corridor is in the planning phase under the Government of India’s ‘Cycle4Change’ mission.
The Chairperson of the civic body announced the plan of another six km long cycle track on Sunday during the inauguration ceremony. The six km long cycle track will be constructed from Bikaner House to Jor Bagh Metro Station in New Delhi. This will be done as part of the ‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ event to celebrate 75 years of Independence. While addressing the cycle riders of the city, Dharmedra said that it will be a celebration of freedom from lifestyle related diseases, and will create awareness about the fitness of body and mind.
