Khattar: 1200 buses will be added to Haryana Roadways’ fleet

CHANDIGARH, Haryana:  The Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar, on Monday, October 10, said that the Government of Haryana has decided to add 1275 buses to improve transport facilities in the state. These buses will include 1,000 non-AC buses, 153 AC buses and 128 minibuses. Additionally, 33 buses will be purchased for the police department.

Khattar was presiding over a meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC), and Department High Powered Purchase Committee (DHPPC) in Chandigarh. During the meeting, he approved the purchase of goods worth Rs 2,500 crore for various departments under the state government.

Mool Chand Sharma, Minister for Transport, Government of Haryana, Ranjit Chautala, Minister for Power, Banwari Lal, Minister for Cooperation, Kamal Gupta, Minister for Urban Local Bodies and Anoop Dhanak, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, were present in the meeting.

Khattar also added that in the meeting, a total of 31 agendas of 11 departments, including Transport, Irrigation, Police, HVPNL, PHED, DHVBN, HPGCL, UHBVN and Boards and Corporations, were tabled. Out of a total of 31 proposals, 24 got approval. He also highlighted that the issue of torrefied biomass pellets in thermal power plants was also discussed in the meeting, for which a tender will be floated in the coming weeks.
