Government banned plastic in all municipal bodies in Telangana

HYDERABAD: The government on Wednesday banned plastic cups, glasses, bottles and other items in all municipal bodies across Telangana. The municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) department issued a government order, for all urban local bodies (ULBs) to put a ban on the use of plastic items in their offices. As per the statement issued by MA&UD, plastic tea cups, drinking water in plastic bottles, single-use straw and other forms of plastic, has been banned with immediate effect.

Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary, MA&UD, pointed out that minister KT Rama Rao, MA&UD has already stopped using plastic bottled water in his office and switched to steel tumblers in a statement issued by him.
