A DDA official said, another amendment will allow traders to use upper floors of shopping centers for commercial purposes after paying the required charges
The amendment that was passed on Tuesday in a meeting chaired by lieutenant governor Anil Bajaj will be notified by the Union Housing and Urban Affairs ministry, which will also file an affidavit in the Supreme Court.
As per the proposed changes, local bodies have to provide parking spaces for every local shopping complex. In case there is no parking facility in the vicinity, the market will be declared a pedestrian street. The proposed changes also suggest development of parking facilities and other basic amenities from the fund collected through conversion and parking charges.
