LUDHIANA, Punjab: Ludhiana civic body officials have been directed to speed up the process of installing unique identity number plates on properties in the city. Till now, only 57,240 number plates have been installed, while the corporation has to complete the GIS survey of about 1.5 lakh properties.
In this regard, a meeting was convened at Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company in Chandigarh. Ludhiana Municipal Commissioner Sandeep Rishi was also present at the meeting.
The private entity roped in for this purpose has informed that the public is not cooperating and is reluctant to provide their complete property details, as they fear the local body will impose taxes. The private firm has been told to complete the exercise within the deadline, which is June end.
