PANAJI: In a meeting with Bhupendra Yadav, Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Government of India, Vishwajit Rane, Minister of Forest, Government of Goa discussed a number of proposals, including the Integrated Development of Wildlife Habitat, for which the state government has requested permission to maintain grasslands, enrichment plantations with fruit-bearing trees, creation and maintenance of forest roads, creation of artificial water holes with solar pumps, and training for nature guides.
Discussions about the integrated and comprehensive development of Bondla Zoological Park, which will display the rich wildlife of the Western Ghats and other regions in a naturalistic setting, also took place during the meeting. Rane has also requested advice from Yadav to work closely with the Ministry for the establishment of a cutting-edge Animal Safari in Goa, following in the footsteps of an Animal Safari created in Kevadia, Gujarat.
According to Rane, a master plan with such proposals has been submitted to Central Zoo Authority.
