HYDERABAD: The Government of Telangana is about to finish several projects aimed at clearing traffic in Hyderbad and it is set to translate on the roads in a matter of months. The construction of road-under-bridges under the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) has severely helped in reducing the commuting time and has made the transit more comfortable in the city. According to officials, the authorities are preparing to introduce more improvements in the year 2022.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be completing 10 projects covered in the SRDP at an estimated cost of Rs 1158 crore by the end of the next financial year. This decision largely had an impact on reducing the traffic in the city.
As a result of flyovers and the road over bridge to be built in the aforementioned projects, traffic from Tolichowki, Kothaguda, Hafeezpet, Gachibowli, Kaithalapur would be managed better and will help in avoiding city roads. The civic body has decided to work on three projects in the GHMC Charminar zone which will resolve the issue of commuting in the old city.
