Chapter 2 of ‘Mission Basundhara’ to start on October 2

DISPUR, Assam: Chief Minister (CM) of Assam Hemant Biswa Sarma, in the closing event of phase I of ‘Mission Basundhara’, announced that the 2nd Chapter of the scheme will begin on this Gandhi Jayanti.

During the closing event, CM Sarma declared that the second phase would be limited only to indigenous people excluding the land under the ownership of suspected citizens and land under encroachment.

Mission Basundhara aims to make land revenue services accessible to the people, reduce the time taken to update the existing land records and establish ease of doing business for the citizens in the land management ecosystem. There are three components of the mission (i) Correction and streamlining of land records in the mission mode, (ii) Polygon survey of 672 non-cadastral villages that are yet to be surveyed, and (iii) Resurvey of 27 districts that cover 18,789 villages through the hybrid methodology.

CM Hemant Biswa Sarma also said, “All 8,13,981 applications received under Mission Basundhara have been resolved.”  The mission aims to achieve the goal of 100 per cent digitalisation of maps and total integration of land records, maps and registration for the state under the Government of India’s Digital India Land Record Modernisation Programme.
