NEW DELHI: Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, claimed on January 26, 2019 that the water of river Yamuna will be potable in one and half year due to the steps being taken to clean the river and to make its water usable and potable.
Gadkari while addressing a rally on Yamuna Bank of Delhi said, “we ensure that the Ganga will be 100 per cent cleaned till March 2020. And the river Yamuna will also be cleaned as there are 13 projects running in Delhi to clean Yamuna and two projects in Haryana and Himachal has been completed.”
The Union Minister mentioned that it is a dream to launch a cruise on river Yamuna to visit Taj Mahal before March. “We have ordered aero boats from Russia which can ply on shallow water. The river can also be used for seaplanes.”
