KOHIMA, Nagaland: Two-day workshop on ‘Strengthening Community Resilience to Climate Change and Disaster Risk’ was organised by Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA).
NSDMA, InsuResilience Solutions (Frankfurt School of Finance and Management), Swiss re and Tata AIG jointly organised a two-day workshop to strengthen community resilience and bring about plans that can be approved and adopted by the administrative heads of the state, Chief Secretary and finally by the Government of Nagaland. Johnny Ruangmei, Joint Chief Executive Officer, NSDMA said “Disaster is no longer a matter of ‘If’ but a matter of ‘When’.”
In addition to that, the workshop also aims to create awareness and understand the 10-point agenda suggested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, and to inculcate the principles of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in policymaking and in the tourism sector as well.
