NEW DELHI: Local commerce platform, eSamudaay has set up a unique women entrepreneurship programme to enable dynamic and aspiring young women to launch and administer independent e-commerce marketplaces in small towns in India.
A statement said that the women entrepreneurs will be provided four months of enhancement, business mentorship, credit facilities, and free access to software worth Rs 1 lakh, to empower them to set up horizontal e-commerce marketplaces in their home towns.
The statement added that the women entrepreneurship-training programme will start on International Women’s Day and the programme seeks to create active participation of women entrepreneurship in establishing decentralised Local Commerce (LCommerce) companies.
The release further said that the applicants will go through a selection process and ten will be selected from among the ambitious entrepreneurs who apply for the project. Through this initiative, eSamudaay intends to build a network of more than 1,000 women LCommerce entrepreneurs across India as part of its ambitious digital democracy plans.
