NEW DELHI: Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister, Delhi, has announced that the government is looking forward to tackle the spread of COVID-19 with a new strategy. With the ‘5-step plan’ also termed as the ‘5 Ts plan’, the state government will be prioritising ‘Testing, tracing, treatment, teamwork, tracking and monitoring’ at this stage. The Chief Minister also mentioned that the government will be conducting testing in a similar fashion to South Korea, where the government undertook large scale testing to identify every positive case thoroughly.

Along these lines, Delhi authority is also planning to conduct 1 lakh random tests at the city’s various hotspots.

Kejriwal also said that the government requires 400 ventilators, 1200 oxygen cylinder equipped beds for the treatment of critical patients.

“In this manner, if there are 30,000 active cases in Delhi we will have arrangements for them. The hospitals have been identified. 12,000 rooms in hotels will also be taken over in phases if the needs arise, “Arvind Kejriwal said. As of now, Delhi accounts for the third highest cases for any state, after Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
