THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Kerala: Representatives from the Social and Communication wings of the World Bank conducted assessments of the solid waste management facilities being developed in various Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in Kannur and Wayanad districts of Kerala.
These evaluations are part of the ongoing implementation of the Kerala Solid Waste Management Project (KSWMP), which is receiving financial support from both the World Bank and the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
Mridula Singh, Social Development Specialist at the World Bank, and Sona Thakur, Senior Communication Specialist, visited various waste management facilities in Sulthan Bathery and Kalpetta municipalities in Wayanad and Anthoor, Taliparamba, Koothuparamba, and Kannur corporation in Kannur district.
The delegates suggested improving the quality and efficiency of the facilities and held discussions with Divya S Iyer, KSWMP Project Director, elected representatives, and officials.”
