VARANASI, Uttar Pradesh: Dr D Vasudevan, Chief General Manager, Varanasi Smart City, was conferred the ‘Star of Governance – Skoch Award in Municipal Governance’ in the city category at a ceremony held in New Delhi on June 18.
According to the Shakambhari Nandan Sonthalia, Spokesperson, Varanasi Smart City, Municipal Ranking 2021, was released in the city administration category at the national level under the ‘Skoch State of Governance Report 2021’. In the city category, Varanasi stood in the first place followed by Thane (Maharashtra) and Bidhannagar (West Bengal), sharing the second spot and Vapi (Gujarat) and Chennai (Tamil Nadu) jointly standing in the third spot.
The city of Varanasi was conferred the ‘Star of Governance-Skoch Award in Municipal Governance’ at the India Governance Forum. In the state category of Municipal ranking 2021, Maharashtra secured first place, Uttar Pradesh was ranked second followed by West Bengal at third place.
The prize distribution ceremony was held in New Delhi.
