RANCHI: Hemant Soren, Chief Minister of Jharkhand on July 23 laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 84 crore for beautification of the capital city of Ranchi. Speaking at the ceremony, Soren emphasized the importance of engagement of people in ensuring all round development of their city. He was of the view that development schemes can only benefit the city and reach its people if they are aware, and therefore can play a significant role in achieving the goals of state government.

These projects cover Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) and Ranchi Regional Development Authority (RRDA) limits, and include work on lanes, drains, beautification of some roundabouts and installation of street lights, among others. Renovation of some of the historical and landmark sites of Ranchi like Ranchi Lake, Jaipal Singh Stadium, Rock Garden, and Morabadi Ground has also been included. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure their timely completion to provide the capital of the state with a much-needed facelift.
